"In the Limelight" Video Contest

#InTheLimelight Video Contest

Rebranding Disability through Achievement

Are you a student or professional who happens to have a disability?

Invisible to visible, physical to learning, temporary to permanent, rare to common--disabilities are as diverse as the individuals that bear them. Though much progress has been made, societal misconceptions still exist in regards to living, working, and succeeding with a disability.

We invite you to join us in changing the narrative by sharing your powerful story of how you live #IntheLimelight.

In (1) 3-4 minute video, please best respond to one or more of the following topics:

  • Have you found success with a disability?

  • What do wish people better understood about your disability?

  • What are the daily challenges you experience as a professional with a disability (challenges you overcome)?

Creativity is encouraged – show us, tell us, enlighten us!

Accepted Formats:

  • Video Confessional – Verbal response to the prompt (directly into the camera).

  • Edited Montage – Series of montaged clips in one or more settings, in response to the prompt (i.e. clips from workplace illustrating how disability plays a role in the professional experience).

  • Interview Style – 1-on-1 interview or conversation with an individual regarding living, working, and succeeding with a disability.

  • Videos must first be uploaded on YouTube. When you submit your entry form you will provide us the YouTube URL. We are requiring this format to take advanage of YouTube's closed captioning service so that all submitted content can be as inclusive as possible.
